The Hive is an immersive digital artwork that invites audiences to step inside a living world built from hundreds of hand-drawn bees.  It explores scale, community, and interconnection by reflecting on the behaviour of bees and how it relates to our human experience.  The installation examines individuality and collectivity and how our small actions accumulate to create a greater whole.

The Hive is a 360-degree environment created to place visitors at the center of the world.  Each element in the world is created with a two-dimensional plane to create a layered collage effect.  The bee particle system, comprised of two-dimensional hand drawn images, is unique each time the video is rendered.
